Landscapes in Newzealand
The image of New Zealand as a peaceful pastoral land full of grassy hills and sheep - there are 40 million of them - is only part of the story.
There are also plenty of national parks to enable you to share a far more rugged and wild vision of the island before the arrival of settlers.
It has unspoilt sub-tropical forests to the north and there are rich volcanic basins - with the occasional eruption - to the south.
As you travel down through New Zealand you also come across mud pools, geysers and hot pools. In the South Island you also get the Southern Alps mountain range and there are stunning fiords in the southwest.
It is surrounded by some of the most beautiful coastline in the world, from unspoilt sandy beaches to marine life havens and remote rugged cliff tops.
